New Dual Degree Programs Offered in Cinema Studies and MIAP

The Department of Cinema Studies is now offering two new Dual Degree Programs: The 5-year B.A./M.A. in Cinema Studies, and the 5-year B.A in Cinema Studies/M.A. in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation (MIAP).  Students must already be enrolled in the Cinema Studies B.A. program to apply.  The application deadline for both dual degree programs for this academic cycle is March 15, 2013.

Please see the individual pages of each program for specific program requirements and admission instructions.

B.A./M.A. in Cinema Studies

The combined Bachelor of Arts & Master of Arts in Cinema Studies allows students to earn the standard B.A. degree at Tisch and then the M.A. degree through the Graduate School of Arts and Science at an accelerated pace.

This program is open to both Tisch and CAS Cinema Studies majors.

B.A. in Cinema Studies / M.A. in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation

The combined Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies and Master of Arts in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation (MIAP) is intended for students who would like to combine the history and aesthetics of cinema studies with the theory and practice of archiving and preserving film, video and digital media.  By completing the dual degree program instead of going through the two programs separately, students can save up to 32 course credits.

This program is only open to Tisch Cinema Studies B.A. students.
